The capital city of the region Aquitaine lies in the south-western part of France, half an hour drive far from the Atlantic coast. Its historic centre is crossed by the river Garonne and it has been declared UNESCO’s world heritage thanks to the beauty of its classic buildings, green gardens and elegant boulevards. From the bridge Pont de Pierre you can have a fantastic view on both banks of the historic centre.
On the boulevards you can find countless cafés and shops. On the terraced café close to the Basilica of Saint-Michel, elegant French meet for a  coffee and a croissant.
Bordeaux is worldwide famous for its fine wines, such as “Lafite Rothschild” or “Latour”. The city counts also ten museums, in which you can learn more about its history and art. Do not miss the chance to have a tour in the lovely surroundings of Bordeaux, for example to Saint-Émilion, where thousands bottles of wine are stored in old catacombs.
